Nerve Injuries after Fracture

This 32-year-old male had a severe forearm fracture with a complete paralysis of his ulnar nerve.

 

This nerve paralysis causes a condition of clawing that is very deforming. With expiration of the nerve at surgery, the scar tissue and bone fragments around the nerve were removed and the he noted significant relief and improvement of his hand function.
