Myeloma – Malignant Tumor Spread to the Hand

After a minor fell this patient developed a fracture that failed to heal. Surgery was recommended to fix the fracture and to biopsy the non healing fracture. The biopsy demonstrated myeloma, a malignant tumor based on the plasma cell, a type of white blood cell that produces antibodies. The tumor destroyed to much bone to repair the fracture, and therefore joint replacement was performed and the patient started advanced cancer treatment.
